Rough Draft of Next Steps
Phase 1: Raising a Vote to Proceed with the Plan (October - November 2023)
- Idea Generation and Discussion (Week 1 - Week 2): Brainstorm and discuss the plan with the SpecOps roundtable members and the wider Arbitrum community. Use platforms like the Arbitrum Discord to share the idea and gather feedback.
- Proposal Drafting (Week 3 - Week 4): Based on the feedback, draft a proposal outlining the plan, its objectives, and its benefits for the Arbitrum ecosystem.
- Proposal Submission (Week 5): Submit the proposal to the SpecOps roundtable for review.
- Vote (Week 6 - Week 7): Conduct a vote among the SpecOps roundtable members to proceed with the plan. If the majority approves, move to the next phase.
Phase 2: Finding Seat Members (November-December 2023)
- Call for Applications (Week 1 - Week 2): Announce the open seats and invite applications from the Arbitrum community. Ensure that the application process is transparent and inclusive.
- Review of Applications (Week 3 - Week 4): Review the applications and shortlist candidates based on their expertise, commitment to the Arbitrum ecosystem, and alignment with the Code of Conduct for Grant Recipients.
Phase 3: Creating a Structure for the New Grant Framework (January - February 2024)
- Framework Development (Week 1 - Week 4): Develop a new grant framework that aligns with the objectives of the SpecOps roundtable and the needs of the Arbitrum ecosystem. This should include the application process, review and award decision, and post-award implementation.
- Community Feedback (Week 5 - Week 6): Share the draft framework with the Arbitrum community and gather feedback.
- Framework Revision (Week 7 - Week 8): Revise the framework based on the feedback and finalize it.
Phase 4: Getting the Framework Ratified by the DAO (March 2024)
- Proposal Submission (Week 1): Submit the final framework to the DAO for ratification.
- DAO Review (Week 2 - Week 3): Allow the DAO to review the framework and provide feedback.
- Vote (Week 4): Conduct a vote among the DAO members to ratify the framework. If the majority approves, the framework is officially adopted.
Remember, these timelines are estimates and the actual process may vary depending on the complexity of the plan and the community's response. Also, ensure that all activities align with the Code of Conduct for Grant Recipients and the Code of Conduct for Third-Party Service Providers.
