The application process for the Arbitrum DAO grant is designed to be transparent, fair, and efficient. It involves several key steps, which are outlined below:
- Preparation: Before applying for a grant, projects should ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria and are prepared to take the pledge of 3% of Token Supply or 3% of Protocol Income if they want to become a steering member. Projects should also complete the necessary due diligence and development to make available 3% of Tokens to be sent to the Arbitrum DAO upon approval or get smart contracts prepared to direct 3% of protocol incomes to the Arbitrum DAO.
- Proposal Development: Projects should develop a comprehensive proposal that outlines how the pledge benefits the entire Arbitrum ecosystem if applicable. The proposal should include the project's own thoughts and out-of-the-box ideas, and it should be open to criticism and recommendations for changes to the pledge procedures.
- Submission: Once the proposal is ready, it can be submitted to the Arbitrum DAO. The submission process involves navigating to the "Grants" section on the Arbitrum Forum. NEED TO UPDATE WITH DISCOURSE INSX
- Review: After the proposal is submitted, it will be reviewed by the Arbitrum Grants SpecOps Roundtable, if the SpecOps Roundtable denies the Grant the project may wish to invoke the appeal process.
The review process involves a temperature check, where the proposal is suggested on the Arbitrum DAO governance forum along with a Snapshot poll. The proposal will then be reviewed and voted on by the Arbitrum DAO community. - Quarterly Ask: Projects should also outline their quarterly ask of ARB tokens from the DAO, and how these tokens will be spent. This information should be included in the proposal and should be clear, detailed, and justified.
- Approval and Implementation: If the proposal is approved, the project will receive the grant and can begin implementing their project. The project team should be prepared to report on their progress and use of funds, as outlined in the Post-Award Implementation section of the Grant Procedure.
The application process is designed to ensure that the Arbitrum DAO grant program supports projects that align with Arbitrum's focus on France and contribute to the growth and development of the Arbitrum ecosystem. It also ensures that the process of applying for and implementing grants is transparent, fair, and efficient, promoting accountability and trust within the Arbitrum DAO.
